Groundwater: Intensive Maker Weekend with the King’s Culture Climate Collective Student Artists at King's College London

During this dedicated 'studio time' to materialise their artistic visions my ten students created several artworks under the umbrella title of Resource Scarcity and Power, from interactive installation, mixed media sculpture, video and painting. I also invited em-dash studio to workshop and co-create a collective zine with the students to gather the intertwined ideas. (March 18, 2023 → March 19, 2023)

Lead Artist for Groundwater - King’s Culture Climate Collective's First Creative Climate Change Project at KCL

Groundwater is the KCCC project running from January to the end of March 2023. Across the term, my work with the students included informal seminars introducing the concepts of climate justice in relation to colonial histories, resource scarcity and power, while practical workshops included sketchbooking moments, zinemaking, speed-sculpting and shaping a space for the students to collectively hone their ideas into artwork proposals and production, towards a final public exhibition 'Superbloom' at Bush House, on the Strand. Weathervane: Student Climate Arts and Activism Talk and Workshop with Love Ssega for King's Culture, KCL

King’s Culture Climate Collective supports students’ arts, creativity and storytelling as powerful forces for transforming our climate emergency, and invited Love Ssega and myself to introduce to students of any programme of study to learn more about the intersection of arts and climate justice. We shared our examples of our work and interests before workshopping in smaller groups to ignite students' own ideas for creative change.

Our Climate Action Consultation and Curation with LU Arts for Loughborough University

I was commissioned by LU Arts to establish a framework for the students and university board to act on sustainability and climate issues. I developed a research survey campaign; curated a series of engagement workshops - co-facilitated by sports researchers Dr James Esson and Dr Jamie Kenyon and the student group Loughborough Greens - and wrote a concluding report of student demands, which was launched at the culminating Student Assembly I organised for all stakeholders to discuss the next steps.
